The position is a CRNA role at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, New York, a 350-bed hospital on the Hudson River that has served the Mid-Hudson Valley since 1887 and is part of Nuvance Health. The hospital's newer Patient Pavilion houses 294 private rooms, a 30-bed intensive care unit, a set of 13 operating suites, and an emergency and trauma center with 66 exam and treatment spaces. The medical center also hosts the region's first cardiothoracic surgery program between Westchester County and Albany, along with the only Level III neonatal intensive care unit in the area.

Anesthesia assignments span endoscopy, general surgery, labor and delivery, radiology, orthopedics, electrophysiology, gynecology, vascular, neurosurgery, urology, cardiac, thoracic, ENT, and plastic procedures. Responsibilities include delivering full anesthesia care across these cases, completing pre-anesthesia assessments and securing informed consent, and building and reviewing anesthetic plans with patients. The CRNA also directs induction, maintenance, and emergence, watches each patient's physiological status, and intervenes as needed, while contributing to departmental coordination and clinical leadership.

Candidates need an active license as a registered professional nurse, a diploma from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, and current certification or recertification through the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists. The compensation listed is an hourly rate of $158.65 and an annual figure of $330k, with a $100K sign-on incentive.
