The position calls for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist who holds a current Virginia RN license, a current Virginia license to practice as a CRNA, and current CRNA certification from the National Board on Certification/Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists. Continued employment requires completing 40 continuing education units every two years and completing credentialing under the medical staff by-laws for the specific job title. A master's degree in nursing from an accredited program in the area of practice is required, though applicants holding current advanced practice licensure may be within one semester of finishing an MSN or higher degree, provided it is completed within six months of hire. No prior experience is required; academic health care experience and one year within the specialty practice area are preferred.

The role requires working all shifts and serving patients of all ages. The successful candidate must understand local, federal and state laws, regulations and The Joint Commission standards relevant to the position, and must show a commitment to compliance with institutional policies and a customer-service approach. No supervisory responsibilities are attached to the role.

Physical demands include lifting 50 to 100 pounds, extensive walking, and frequent overhead and repetitive reaching. The work calls for strong recall, reasoning, problem solving, clear speech and legible writing, and the ability to function in a fast-paced, noisy setting with frequent change, multiple priorities and intense customer interactions.

The posted salary grade range is $231,732.80 to $389,833.00, with a broader compensation range of $0.00 to $500,000.00 shown as well. Actual offers will depend on relevant work experience, credentials and qualifications.
