Full details
This permanent role is based at an ambulatory surgery center in Novi, Michigan, and is an outpatient position. The opening exists because the site is short staffed, and the start date is as soon as possible, though credentialing can take up to 90 days before a candidate begins working.
The anesthetist will give intravenous, inhalation, and regional anesthesia to keep patients free of pain during surgical, obstetrical, and other medical or dental procedures. Patients may range from geriatric to pediatric and across the American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status classes. The work includes conducting pre-anesthetic assessments and documenting findings, setting the anesthetic plan with the anesthesiologist, and managing care before, during, and immediately after each procedure. Airway management and intubation are required for emergent, non-emergent, and resuscitation cases throughout the hospital, and complete, accurate charting is expected for every case.
Scheduling includes varied day shifts, weekend shifts that vary, and on-call duty, with call described as minimal. Shifts run 8, 10, or 12 hours. The average patient volume is not fixed and varies.
Candidates must be board certified by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and must have completed an accredited nurse anesthesia program.
Pay is listed as $238,368 per year, which corresponds to $114.60 per hour, along with a starting bonus of $20,000. Benefits include medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage, flexible spending accounts for health and dependent care, health savings accounts, life insurance, retirement programs, and short-term and long-term disability options. Paid time off covers vacation, sick time, and holidays, and the package also includes tuition reimbursement, a continuing medical education allowance, an employee assistance program, discounts for system employees, career advancement opportunities, and two weeks of paid parental leave.
