This CRNA position in Tacoma, Washington is a 4-10 schedule with variable Monday through Friday shifts and no call, weekends, or holidays. The posting notes new pay rates along with an upcoming pay increase.

The anesthetist would deliver general anesthesia and selected regional techniques for surgical patients, as well as anesthesia for related services such as radiology. The role involves sustaining vital functions while anesthesia is in effect, placing certain invasive monitoring lines, managing the airway, and responding promptly to unexpected or abnormal patient reactions.

Planning is done with the attending anesthesiologist, and the CRNA confirms that equipment, supplies, and medications are available and functioning. Before induction, the provider verifies that a proper pre-anesthesia evaluation exists and reassesses the patient's readiness. Care must follow the policies, rules, and regulations of the facility.

Throughout the perianesthetic period, the CRNA monitors vital signs and gives resuscitative care as needed to maintain or stabilize the patient. Anesthetic events are charted promptly and legibly on the anesthesia record, and handoff of the patient's course is provided to post-anesthesia care staff. Significant changes are communicated to the attending anesthesiologist.

Post-anesthetic interviews are documented in the medical record, including date, time, and whether anesthesia-related complications occurred, with any complications reported to the attending. The position also includes participation in departmental activities, continuing education programs, and offering professional skills to other departments.
