Full details

This full-time graduate nurse anesthetist position in West Los Angeles works under the medical supervision of an anesthesiologist. The role involves giving general and regional anesthesia for surgical, obstetric and other procedures across neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, following hospital and departmental standards of care. Care may cover airway management, fluid and hemodynamic balance, monitoring, emergency airway and resuscitation response, and ventilator management.

Day-to-day duties include pre-operative patient evaluation through interview, examination and chart review, and selecting an anesthetic together with the physician. The anesthetist prepares medications, checks equipment daily and between cases, monitors patients during surgery, and assesses patients after surgery, including a review within 24 hours. Controlled substances must be accounted for under departmental guidelines, and equipment and supplies must be maintained per policy.

Courteous and cooperative relations with patients, staff and the public are expected, along with other duties within licensure and certification scope.
