Full details

A sign-on bonus of $25,000 is offered with this full-time Graduate Registered Nurse Anesthetist position in the South Bay/Harbor City area. The CRNA works under the medical supervision of an anesthesiologist, providing general and regional anesthesia for surgical, obstetrical and other procedures across neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, following hospital and departmental standards of care. Responsibilities include airway management, fluid and homeostasis maintenance, patient monitoring, emergency airway and cardiopulmonary resuscitation response, and management of ventilated patients.

Day-to-day duties include interviewing and examining patients before surgery, reviewing their charts, and choosing an anesthetic with the physician. The provider reviews each patient's response to premedication, coordinates with surgeons and anesthesiologists about special concerns, and checks anesthesia equipment daily and between cases. Drugs are prepared and administered within the provider's delineated clinical privileges, and controlled substances must be accounted for accurately under departmental guidelines.

The position requires following organizational rules, Joint Commission standards, Title 22, and regional and department requirements, along with Kaiser Permanente policies and applicable state, federal and local laws. The CRNA maintains equipment and supplies, builds courteous working relationships with patients, staff and the public, and may take on other duties within the scope of licensure. The role is part of an anesthesia team that includes anesthesiologists, CRNAs and anesthesia technicians.
