Full details

The schedule is 8-hour shifts. The role centers on giving anesthesia or sedation to patients across a range of surgical and non-surgical procedures. The CRNA builds a pre-anesthetic plan, writes the related orders before, during and after each case, and coordinates with the other providers caring for the patient. Communication with patients, their families and the wider care team is part of the work, as is ordering and reviewing diagnostic tests when needed. Hemodynamic and other monitoring guides adjustments to the anesthetic plan, and the position calls for attention to the developmental needs of every client population served.

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree from an approved, accredited advanced-practice program, with a master's, Doctor of Nursing Practice or PhD preferred. Candidates need an unencumbered license as a CRNA from the state board of nursing where they practice, or multi-state privileges where the position requires them. CRNA certification from the NBCRNA must be obtained and maintained, along with department-specific competencies. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is preferred. Privileging and credentialing documents override this description where the two differ.

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the nation, works to reshape the patient experience and bring high-quality care to communities across the Midwest. The position is not part of a union.
