The role is an employed CRNA position on a hospital anesthesia team in Spearfish, South Dakota, a community in the northern Black Hills. The practice model is independent yet collaborative, with 13 hospital-employed CRNAs on staff at a Level IV Trauma Center. The scope covers surgical and obstetrical cases, with a notable focus on regional anesthesia and peripheral nerve blocks, and new hires receive training in these techniques.

Additional responsibilities include labor epidurals, post-operative pain management, acute and chronic pain services, participation in neonatal and adult resuscitation throughout the hospital, and vascular access work such as peripheral IV and PICC line placement. Overtime is available.

Compensation starts at $245,200 or more, with a signing bonus of up to $300,000 and student stipend opportunities of up to $72,000. Relocation help is offered. Benefits include a comprehensive package, an employer-matched 403(b), an annual CME allowance plus 5 paid CME days, and 5 to 7 weeks of paid vacation. South Dakota has no state income tax.
