Full details
The schedule is 8-hour shifts. A nationally recognized surgical center in the Black Hills region of South Dakota is looking to hire several full-time nurse anesthetists. The facility leads in a broad range of surgical fields and is opening a new cardiac catheterization lab service line this fall. The team works in a collaborative setting known for well-organized scheduling, a substantial volume of regional anesthesia cases, and a call arrangement designed to protect personal time.
Responsibilities center on delivering general, spinal, sedation, and regional anesthesia, along with pain management, for many surgical and diagnostic procedures. Expected case types include orthopedic, spine (ortho and neuro), ENT, general surgery, gynecology, plastics, cardiac catheterization, and minor vascular work. Open-heart and thoracic cases are excluded, as are head procedures, while healthy pediatric patients make up roughly 5% to 10% of the caseload.
Optional gap-shift coverage is available at a higher rate.
Candidates need graduation from an NLN-accredited nursing program and from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, along with CRNA certification. South Dakota licensure is required, though applicants who have not yet obtained it may be considered if they are willing to do so. Two years of CRNA experience is preferred, but new graduates may be considered and can receive a preceptorship.
Rapid City lies at the foot of the Black Hills, a short drive from Mount Rushmore, and offers year-round outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, hunting, off-road motor sports, and wildlife viewing. Deadwood and Sturgis are nearby for entertainment and history.
