The position is a full-time, benefits-eligible role of 40 hours per week, with a posted pay range of $99.75 to $159.60.
The CRNA would provide anesthesia for pediatric procedures using safe, quality techniques as part of a team-focused care model. The anesthesia service at the hospital covers orthopedics, total joints, neuro-spine, hand, ophthalmology, podiatry, and gastroenterology. Duties include building patient care plans that account for comorbidities and age and developmental needs, working with the medical team when needed, and upholding patient safety, quality improvement, and infection prevention. The role also includes accurate record keeping, cost-conscious use of resources, and other duties as assigned. The CRNA may precept student nurse anesthetists and help mentor them.
The benefits listed include 10-hour shifts and freelance opportunities, up to $2,500 in continuing education reimbursement plus five additional PTO days per year, and paid time off that begins at 25 days per year. Parental benefits include six weeks of paid maternity leave for the birthing mother and four weeks of paid parental leave. The employer offers retirement contributions of up to 7% and a sign-on incentive of up to $100,000, subject to eligibility requirements. A transition payment of up to $7,500 is paid within the first 30 days of employment. Student anesthetists in their final year may receive monthly educational assistance of up to $12,000, also subject to eligibility.
Candidates need graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program and a master's degree or higher, a North Carolina registered nurse license, and current certification or recertification as a nurse anesthetist from the National Board. Current BLS and ACLS certification is required, along with the ability to show clinical competency within granted privileges and strong verbal and written communication skills. The clinician practices under the authority of the North Carolina Medical Board or the North Carolina Board of Nursing, with credentialing specific to the institution.
