Full details
Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking a PRN Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join its Outpatient Anesthesia Team in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The campus is a level 1 trauma center within an academic health system, and the outpatient department will also be staffed at a newly built freestanding surgery center completed in 2025. The posting lists a pay range of $175.00 to $175.00 and a scheduled 40 hours per week, with benefits eligibility.
In this role, the CRNA provides anesthesia using safe, quality techniques during procedures, selects appropriate care plans by weighing patient comorbidities, age, and developmental considerations, and coordinates with the medical team as needed. Work covers a broad case mix, including orthopedic, vascular, burn, cardiothoracic (on a specific team), neurology, ENT, general and abdominal, robotic, and gynecology cases, along with electrophysiology, interventional radiology, MRI, burn tank, brachytherapy, and transesophageal echocardiography. The clinician is also expected to document care accurately, support infection prevention and quality improvement, and help control costs by conserving resources.
Precepting student nurse anesthetists is encouraged, giving the CRNA a chance to mentor and assess students. The position calls for punctuality, schedule flexibility, teamwork, and continued professional growth.
Candidates need a graduate degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, a North Carolina registered nurse license, and current National Board certification or recertification as a nurse anesthetist. Current BLS and ACLS certification, demonstrated clinical competency within granted privileges, and strong verbal and written communication are also required. The clinician practices under the authority of the North Carolina Medical Board or the North Carolina Board of Nursing, with departmental credentialing from the institution.
Compensation includes base pay within the posted range, based on qualifications and experience, along with possible premium pay for shifts or on-call duty and incentive pay for select positions. Benefits available to eligible staff include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, paid time off, flexible spending accounts, family leave benefits, retirement plans with an employer match, and an educational assistance program. Eligibility for some programs depends on FTE or employment status.
