Full details

The role is with a patient-centered, collegial team that aims to deliver high-quality care with compassion and respect for each patient's dignity and individuality. The position is based at a hospital in Harvey, Illinois and at an ambulatory surgery center in Tinley Park, Illinois. The CRNA administers anesthesia, maintains it throughout the operation, and oversees recovery. Duties include preoperative assessment through chart review and patient interview, with an anesthesia plan developed alongside the surgeon and attending anesthesiologist, and demonstrated expertise in airway management such as mask ventilation, laryngeal mask placement, and endotracheal intubation.

Cases span general surgery, orthopedics, spine, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, and urology. The surgery center sees a limited number of healthy pediatric patients, while complex cranial cases and trauma are uncommon or excluded. Practice follows an anesthesia care team model in which an anesthesiologist supervises non-physician anesthetists and residents at the same time.

Candidates should hold a baccalaureate or graduate nursing degree, or a degree in another appropriate field, along with an unrestricted registered nurse license and or APRN credential. At least one year of full-time critical care nursing experience in the United States is required, or the part-time equivalent. Applicants must have graduated from a master's-level nurse anesthesia program accredited by the Council on Accreditation, passed the National Certification Examination, and hold current BLS and ACLS certification. Neuraxial experience is preferred but not required.

Benefits highlighted include medical and dental coverage, retirement savings, paid time off, and a continuing medical education allowance. Compensation is competitive, with added paid shift opportunities. Flexibility is offered, with full-time, part-time, and extra shifts available based on the provider's preference.

The employed option is listed with a stated annual hour total, an hourly rate of $135, full benefits, and a required monthly call obligation, with weekday call paid at $340 and weekend call at $400, and annual compensation of $320,112. A PRN or 1099 option is also listed, with an hourly rate of $200, weekday call at $180, weekend call at $240, and annual compensation of $384,000. The position is listed in the Chicago, Illinois area.
