Full details
BronxCare is a large not-for-profit health and teaching system serving the South and Central Bronx, with over 4,500 staff, 859 beds, and roughly a million outpatient visits a year. Its emergency department handles about 140,000 visits annually, and the hospital maintains a clinical collaboration with Mount Sinai Health System along with an academic affiliation with the Icahn School of Medicine and sixteen accredited fellowship and residency programs.
This full-time CRNA role is built around a collaborative care-team model. The anesthetist provides anesthesia across a wide range of surgical specialties, including pediatrics, endocrine, general, ENT, neurology, vascular, gynecology, and plastics. Duties include pre-anesthesia assessments, obtaining informed consent, designing and reviewing anesthetic plans with patients, managing induction, maintenance, and emergence, monitoring physiological status and intervening as needed, and contributing to departmental coordination and clinical leadership.
The schedule is described as flexible and calls for 24-hour shifts totaling 73 per year, which works out to about six days per month. The listed compensation includes a base salary of $320K and a $100K sign-on incentive.
The package covers medical, life, vision, and dental coverage along with disability and accidental death insurance, a generous amount of paid leave, flexible spending and health savings accounts, a 401(k) with profit sharing, fully paid malpractice coverage, and assistance with loan repayment and training costs.
Candidates need a current registered professional nursing license, graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, and current certification or recertification through the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
