Full details

This per diem certified registered nurse anesthetist position is based at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina. Rex is a privately owned, nonprofit facility tied to the UNC Health Care System, with 660 beds and several specialty centers, including cardiac, family birth, cancer, convalescent, adult care and wellness services.

The main campus has roughly 40 sites where anesthesia is delivered, among them 24 main operating rooms, procedure rooms, obstetric suites, and several locations outside the main surgical departments such as electrophysiology, TAVR and hybrid MRI. The anesthesia department includes about 30 anesthesiologists and 70 CRNAs and maintains a relationship with the Raleigh School of Nurse Anesthesia. The team works collaboratively in an anesthesia care model that values every member's input and aims for high-quality care across a large, varied patient population.

Case assignments span cardiac, pediatric, obstetric and gynecologic, general, plastic, urologic and vascular procedures. The CRNA provides full anesthesia care for these operations, completes pre-anesthesia evaluations, obtains informed consent, and builds and reviews anesthetic plans with patients. Responsibilities also include managing induction, maintenance and emergence, monitoring each patient's physiological status and intervening as needed, and supporting departmental coordination and clinical leadership.

Candidates need a current registered professional nurse license, graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, and certification or recertification by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists. The compensation is listed as $175 per hour, and malpractice insurance coverage is fully paid.
