Full details

This part-time CRNA role at Trinity Health Livonia is in the Anesthesia department. The nurse anesthetist gives general, regional, and sedation anesthesia across surgical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and obstetrical cases, caring for patients from pediatric through adult age throughout the hospital. The work is carried out under the direction of the Medical Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology or a qualified designee, and the CRNA reports to the CRNA Manager.

Daily duties include completing a pre-anesthetic assessment and ordering suitable lab and diagnostic tests, preparing the operating room by running machine checks and setting up adjunct equipment, and confirming that all anesthesia equipment is ready and functioning. The CRNA readies the patient, keeps an accurate anesthesia record and related adjunct forms, and documents significant events during each case. After surgery, the CRNA escorts the patient to the PACU, provides immediate post-anesthesia care, and hands off care to PACU staff.

Clinical responsibilities also cover careful monitoring, resuscitation support, ventilation, and life support both inside and outside the operating suite. The nurse anesthetist additionally helps gather data and review cases for process improvement efforts.

Qualifications include graduation from a nurse anesthesia program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor, a current Michigan state nursing license, CRNA certification, and current BLS and ACLS credentials.

Compensation is described as competitive. Benefits begin on the first day with no waiting period and include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and a retirement savings plan with employer matching and contributions. Growth opportunities within Trinity Health and tuition reimbursement are also available.
