Full details
This part-time, rotating contingent position at Trinity Health Livonia sits in the Anesthesia department and calls for a CRNA who delivers general, regional, and sedation anesthesia for surgical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and obstetrical cases across the hospital, serving patients from infancy through adulthood. The CRNA works under the supervision of the chair of Anesthesiology, or a designee, and reports to the CRNA Manager.
Daily duties start with a pre-anesthetic evaluation, which includes ordering suitable lab work and diagnostic tests. The provider readies the room, runs the anesthesia machine check, lays out supporting equipment, and confirms that every device needed for drug administration is available and functioning. The CRNA also prepares the patient for the procedure, keeps a precise anesthesia record along with related adjunct documentation, and logs significant events during the case.
After surgery, the CRNA escorts the patient to the post-anesthesia care unit, provides initial recovery care, and hands off responsibility to PACU staff. Clinical work also covers careful monitoring, helping with cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and managing ventilation and life support both within and beyond the operating suite. The role further involves gathering data and reviewing cases to support quality improvement efforts.
Applicants need to be graduates of a nurse anesthesia program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor, hold a current Michigan nursing license, and have CRNA certification. Current BLS and ACLS credentials are also required.
Compensation is described as competitive. Benefits start on the first day with no waiting period and include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and a retirement savings plan with employer matching and contributions. Growth opportunities within Trinity Health and tuition reimbursement are also available.
