Full details

This part-time, rotating-shift CRNA position in the Anesthesia department at Trinity Health Livonia involves giving many kinds of anesthesia and related care for surgical, diagnostic, therapeutic and obstetrical procedures, covering pediatric through adult patients across the hospital. The nurse anesthetist works under the general direction of the Medical Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology, or a qualified designee, and reports to the CRNA Manager.

Duties include completing pre-anesthetic assessments and ordering suitable lab work and diagnostic tests before general, regional or sedation care. The role also covers preparing the operating room, running the machine check, arranging adjunct equipment, and confirming that every device used for anesthetic agents is ready and working. The nurse anesthetist readies the patient, keeps accurate anesthesia delivery and adjunct records, and logs significant events during each case.

After surgery, the CRNA escorts the patient to the PACU, gives immediate recovery care, and hands off to PACU staff. Clinical work includes careful monitoring, support during cardiopulmonary resuscitation, ventilation and life support both inside and outside the OR suite. The position also helps gather data and review cases for process improvement.

Qualifications include graduation from a nurse anesthesia program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor, a current Michigan state nursing license, CRNA certification, and current BLS and ACLS credentials.

Compensation is described as competitive. Benefits begin on the first day with no waiting period and include medical, dental and vision coverage, paid time off, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and a retirement savings plan with employer matching and contributions. Growth opportunities within Trinity Health and tuition reimbursement are also offered.
