Full details

Advocate Christ Hospital & Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois is seeking a per diem Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join its Anesthesiology team. The role works within a care team model led strongly by CRNAs. The nurse anesthetist would deliver anesthesia care for both elective and emergency surgical cases.

The case mix spans general, thoracic, vascular, orthopedic, ENT, trauma, neuro (head and spine), gynecologic and transplant surgery. CRNAs in this role may perform spinal anesthetics, place arterial lines and administer some peripheral nerve blocks.

Oak Lawn sits just southwest of downtown Chicago and is described as a family-friendly community with good schools, parks, dining, shopping and cultural attractions, with convenient highway and public transit access. The medical center is a 788-bed teaching institution with a Level I trauma center, advanced surgical suites and specialty programs in cardiology, oncology, neurosciences, orthopedics and women's health. It serves as a major Midwestern referral center for oncology, neuro and transplant care.

Candidates need a registered nurse license and CRNA certification from the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, plus an advanced practice nurse prescriber license, DEA registration, and PALS, ACLS or NRP certification from the American Heart Association or AAP, with the cardiac or pediatric credentials due within six months unless the department leader waives them. A master's degree in nursing is required, and no prior experience is necessary.

Pay is listed as $175.00 to $175.00 per the posting, with base compensation placed within the range according to qualifications, skills, experience and training. Premium pay for shifts and on-call work may apply, along with incentive pay for select roles and possible annual increases based on performance. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability coverage, flexible spending accounts, paid time off, family leave, retirement plans with employer match, and an educational assistance program, with eligibility depending on FTE and status.
