Full details
This full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist position sits within the Anesthesiology department at Trinity Health in Brighton, Michigan. Under the medical direction of an anesthesiologist, the CRNA develops anesthetic plans and delivers anesthesia across assigned locations, monitoring each patient's physiological status and taking corrective steps either independently or as the physician directs. The role also covers pre- and post-operative evaluations for assigned cases, with thorough electronic medical record documentation.
Day-to-day responsibilities include delivering safe, individualized care that accounts for each patient's age, development, and cultural background. The CRNA prepares supplies, medications, and equipment for every case and checks that devices function properly before surgery. Working with the anesthesiologist, the CRNA reviews medical charts, confirms the planned procedure, assesses each patient's condition, and secures or verifies intravenous access. With appropriate training and credentials, the CRNA may also place arterial lines, perform spinal anesthesia, and administer IV regional anesthesia. Additional duties include responding to airway emergencies across the facility, performing intubation and other life-supporting interventions, managing blood, fluid, and electrolyte shifts, and handling emergencies such as confirming recovery from muscle relaxants and opioids.
Qualified candidates hold a bachelor's degree in nursing and have graduated from an accredited nurse anesthesia program with a master's degree or doctorate. The position requires CRNA certification and an RN license along with a Michigan CRNA specialty license, or the license obtained within six months of hire. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are also required. Prior experience is preferred but not required.
The compensation package lists a minimum pay rate of $132.00 and is described as competitive. Benefits start on the first day, with no waiting period, and include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and a retirement savings plan with employer matching and contributions. Daily pay is available, and the employer offers tuition reimbursement and room for advancement across SJMHS and Trinity Health.
