Pay is listed at $150 per hour on a per diem basis, and the employer provides medical professional liability insurance. The posting states there is no mandatory call.
The caseload spans more than 40 anesthetizing locations, including operating rooms, obstetrics, and NORA suites such as the cath lab and GI procedure areas. Cases cover general, cardiac, vascular, neuro, orthopedic, ENT, GI, gynecologic, plastic, and obstetrical surgery. The system reports over 40,000 cases and more than 6,000 births across its sites.
Candidates need an active state license, DEA registration, and state controlled-substance board certification, along with current board certification. ACLS, PALS, and BLS credentials are also required.
The hospital system, Methodist Le Bonheur, is a large regional health network that includes Methodist University Hospital, Germantown, North, South, and Olive Branch facilities. Its anesthesia residency is expected to grow into a leading Memphis program, with existing subspecialty training in cardiac, obstetric, critical care, acute, and chronic pain anesthesia.
