The role centers on delivering anesthesia care, including intravenous, inhalation, and regional techniques that keep patients free of pain during surgery, obstetrical deliveries, and other medical or dental procedures. The CRNA may serve patients of every age and across the full range of A.S.A. physical status classes, including older adults and children. Airway management is also provided as needed throughout the hospital.

Applicants need graduation from an accredited nursing program and from an accredited anesthesia school, along with a master's degree. The position calls for the ability to collaborate smoothly with anesthesiologists and other clinicians. Required credentials include Michigan RN licensure, CRNA certification, state specialty certification, ALS and BLS certifications, and clinical privileges, all of which must be kept current.
