This flexible, PRN position with the UAB Division of Community Anesthesia places a CRNA at UAB St. Vincent's East, an acute care hospital northeast of Birmingham near Trussville. The division pairs anesthesiologists and CRNAs to serve community hospitals with an academic approach to medicine, and CRNAs there work with autonomy alongside anesthesiologists and surgeons. The hospital handles orthopaedic, cardiac, GI, urologic and ambulatory diagnostic cases, and the division covers more than 10,000 procedures a year across 12 operating rooms with six anesthesiologists and more than 19 CRNAs.

The CRNA provides anesthesia for a wide range of surgical procedures and diagnostic tests under an anesthesiologist's direction, following the policies of the Department of Anesthesiology. The role also includes helping to teach nurse anesthesia students in a clinical setting.

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nurse anesthesia program and hold an Alabama CRNA license. Current BLS and ACLS certifications are also required.
