Full details

The CRNA joins an interprofessional healthcare team delivering anesthesia under a care team model, providing care to patients of every acuity level across the lifespan in surgical, obstetrical, and diagnostic settings. Responsibilities include pre-operative patient review and anesthetic delivery in operating rooms, interventional radiology, endoscopy, and Labor and Delivery, working alongside the attending anesthesiologist to build anesthesia care plans.

Core duties cover selecting and giving anesthetics, adjuvant and accessory drugs, fluids, and blood products; managing airway and pulmonary status through intubation, extubation, ventilation, and respiratory therapy; and monitoring patients through both invasive and noninvasive techniques. The role also includes performing pre-anesthetic evaluations and interviews, obtaining informed consent, reviewing medical history to anticipate anesthetic response, and interpreting x-rays and EKGs. The CRNA responds to emergencies with airway management, emergency drugs or fluids, and cardiac life support, and performs regional techniques such as spinal, epidural, caudal, and nerve blocks once proficiency is established.

Post-anesthesia work includes assessing patient responses, addressing complications or requesting consultation, giving medications or fluids to support circulation, and discharging patients from recovery.

Scheduling options include multiple shift lengths of 8, 10, and 12 hours, and part-time arrangements are available. The posting states that nights, weekends, call, and holidays are not required. Full scope of practice is offered, including regional anesthesia if the provider wishes to pursue it, and new graduates are welcome. Free parking is provided.

Starting pay is listed as $240,000, rising to $270,000 with five years of experience, along with a $100,000 sign-on bonus. The posted pay range is $217,586.40 to $326,379.60, with the final offer depending on qualifications, education, experience, and organizational needs.

Eligibility requires graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program and eligibility for certification by the NBCRNA, with enrollment in its Continued Professional Certification program once certified. Candidates need BLS, ACLS, and PALS credentials and an active Maryland state license that meets the state's CRNA rules. The role emphasizes advanced knowledge of anesthesia, perioperative medicine, and critical care, and patient care aligned with the organization's values.
