This full-time role at Jefferson Hospital, part of Allegheny Health Network, centers on delivering anesthetic care to surgical patients. The CRNA assesses each patient, plans and carries out the anesthetic management, and keeps accurate medical record documentation, which accounts for the largest share of the work. Continuous monitoring of anesthetized patients and prompt correction of abnormal responses form another major part of the day, with the attending physician consulted on the plan of care and on any decisions that fall outside the CRNA's knowledge or scope.

Additional responsibilities include contributing to performance and quality improvement initiatives, upholding nursing and AANA ethical and legal standards, and following safety rules and regulatory requirements. The CRNA also serves as a clinical resource for the wider care team and may mentor new staff or students. Other duties may be assigned as needed. A sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates.

Candidates need a current Pennsylvania RN license or a current multi-state license under the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact. Certification as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists is required, and prior CRNA experience is preferred. Employment also requires CPR through the American Heart Association, PALS, ACLS, several Pennsylvania clearance certificates (Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73), and FBI fingerprinting.
