Full details
The role is a PRN position for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, who provides anesthesia to patients during surgical, obstetrical, and other pain-producing procedures under physician supervision. The nurse anesthetist works within a collaborative care model alongside residents, fellows, attendings, and other staff involved in each patient's care.
Core responsibilities include documenting procedures and any incidents, assessing patients before, during, and after anesthesia, and maintaining patient safety while delivering anesthesia according to accepted practice. The nurse anesthetist serves as a point of contact for surgeons, anesthesiologists, colleagues, patients, and families, takes part in departmental quality assurance efforts and professional development activities, and adjusts communication, privacy practices, and explanations to suit each patient population.
Candidates need a master's degree from an AANA-accredited nurse anesthesia program, an APRN license in the state of practice, and AANA certification, along with Basic Cardiac Life Support certification from the American Heart Association. No prior work experience is required. Strong computer and keyboard skills, clear written and verbal communication, and flexibility for 24/7, weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage are expected.
The employer maintains a compliance and privacy program and is an equal opportunity employer.
