Full details

This CRNA II opening at Salem Hospital, part of Mass General Brigham, is an onsite role in the Department of Anesthesiology. The clinician provides anesthesia care across the organization, which includes reviewing patient histories, administering and managing anesthesia, and watching patients through procedures and the perioperative period. The incumbent must keep current registration as a CRNA and supply documentation of it.

Beyond clinical practice, this position runs the department's pre-admission shadowing program from first inquiry through completion of documented shadow hours. Responsibilities include serving as the main contact for nurses and other medical staff who want to shadow CRNAs before applying to nurse anesthesia programs, screening candidates, and conducting intake interviews. The role also involves maintaining the program's forms and waivers, recruiting and scheduling CRNA preceptors, handling day-of logistics for shadowers, and verifying shadow logs for application packets. It further includes liaising with regional CRNA and DNAP programs and reporting program metrics to leadership, while mentoring nursing staff on application requirements and certification benchmarks.

Required qualifications include a master's degree in nurse anesthesia practice, current National Board certification as a CRNA, a Massachusetts registered nurse license, and BLS and ACLS credentials. Two to three years of CRNA experience is preferred. Successful candidates should be skilled at taking medical histories, remain calm in emergencies, communicate clearly with patients and staff, and explain complex information to others.

The practice describes a collegial relationship between CRNAs and anesthesiologists within an integrated care team, with leadership support and a structured orientation. The setting is a fast-paced acute care hospital on the North Shore, and the organization's stated values are knowledge, compassion, innovation, and collaboration.

The posted base pay range is $280,000.00 to $305,000.00 per year, and a sign-on bonus of $40,000 is offered, with details discussed during interviews. Final compensation will reflect skills, experience, education, and certifications, and the package may include differentials, premiums, and bonuses as applicable along with comprehensive benefits.
