Full details
Salem Hospital, part of Mass General Brigham, is recruiting Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists to join its anesthesia team at the 81 Highland Avenue site on the North Shore. The posted base pay range is $280,000.00 to $305,000.00 per year, and a sign-on bonus of $40,000 is offered, with details to be discussed during interviews.
The CRNA I is a board-certified clinician who provides anesthesia care to all patients in the organization. Core duties include reviewing each patient's medical history, delivering and managing anesthesia, and monitoring patients during procedures and through the perioperative period. The incumbent must furnish proof of continued CRNA registration.
Candidates need a master's degree in nurse anesthesia practice and current CRNA certification from the NBCRNA, along with BLS and ACLS certification. A Massachusetts registered nurse license is preferred. Experience as a CRNA or as a new graduate with up to one year is preferred. Foreign language ability suited to the patient population is a plus.
The role calls for strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, biochemistry, chemistry, physics, and pharmacology as they apply to anesthesia. Successful applicants work well in a fast-paced, team-based environment, can also work independently, communicate clearly with patients, surgeons, and staff, take thorough histories, maintain quality standards, stay current with anesthesia best practices, and respond calmly in emergencies.
The hospital describes its practice culture as built on knowledge, compassion, innovation, and collaboration, with a supportive environment, strong leadership, and a structured orientation and training program. New graduate CRNAs receive regular check-ins to help them adjust to the acute care setting. As part of Mass General Brigham, the hospital gives staff access to specialists and a network focused on safety and innovation.
Benefits include competitive base pay, comprehensive benefits, career advancement, differentials, premiums, bonuses where applicable, and recognition programs. Final pay depends on skills, experience, education, and certifications, and the Talent Acquisition team can review the full compensation package during the process.
