Full details

This full-time CRNA role sits within the Department of Anesthesiology at Endeavor Health, where nurse anesthetists are part of the medical group and work as members of a collaborative Anesthesia Care Team. The position is posted at an average of 40 hours weekly, generally Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., though some off-shift coverage may be needed. Limited travel is expected among several NorthShore Pavilions, including Evanston, Glenbrook, Highland Park, Skokie and Swedish hospitals.

CRNAs work under the direction of the chief of anesthesiology and the designated attending anesthesiologist, who determines how much of the service the CRNA provides. The practice's stated scope is unlimited, and patients range from neonates to geriatric adults, so providers must be able to assess and treat every age group. Cases span neuro, cardiac, general surgery, thoracic, urology, plastics, orthopedics, obstetrics and ophthalmology, plus off-site settings such as interventional radiology, the cath lab, GI and MRI. Cardiac work includes CABG, TAVR, ECMO and LVAD procedures as part of the heart team, and regional techniques such as spinals and peripheral nerve blocks are performed. CRNAs may also serve as clinical instructors for student nurse anesthetists.

Candidates need an Advanced Practice Nurse license in Illinois, graduation from an approved nurse anesthesia program, and current or pending eligibility for CRNA certification, with recertification every two years. BLS and ACLS are required, and PALS is encouraged. Both new graduates and experienced clinicians are invited to apply. The hourly pay range is listed as $122.60 to $162.41, with rates set by expertise and years of experience among other factors.

Benefits described include career pathway programs for professional growth, several medical, dental and vision plans, health savings account choices, a wellness program, a savings plan, tuition support, parking at designated sites, retirement options with a company match, paid time off and holiday pay, community involvement opportunities, and a continuing medical education allowance.

Endeavor Health describes itself as an integrated system serving more than 4.2 million residents across six northeast Illinois counties, with eight Magnet-recognized acute care hospitals and more than 300 ambulatory locations.
